> Lurgan park and Ulster preview
|
Continuing on from where i left off, i can confirm that I am doing the Ulster rally, now in 2 weeks time, but more on that later.
Thanks to the North Armagh Motor Club, we were able to do "00" duties in Lurgan Park on Saturday. This is always a great event but this year I was really impressed by how well organised the rally was and how it ran on time. It was a fun day out for me and Conor Loughran who took up the co-drivers seat for the day.
The weather was good and the stages were dry for me all day....with some drivers being caught out in one heavy rain shower. The car came through the day with no problems and being at Lurgan Park always gives you the oppertunity to catch up with old friends and get right up close with all the spectators.
Going back to the Ulster rally on the 21st and 22nd of August, having only driven in 2 rallys this year, going to this rally is going to be a difficult enough task. I think in total there will be 16 fiestas going, as this is a round of both uk and irl championships. There are stages on friday evening and all day Saturday which is a huge challenge for me as I've never competed on a full International before.
However, I am dying to get back out, I havent got any real expectations for the rally, there are alot of quick drivers who have been out all year, who are going to fight for championships, all I can hope for is to build up my speed throughout the rally and hope to get a respectable finish come saturday evening!
I think thats all for now....hope to get another update in before the start of the Ulster, in the mean time check out the pics from Lurgan in the gallery.
