It feels like a long time since Galway, infact the break from Galway to now, is longer than the break we had between seasons, so I thought it was time to bring everyone up to speed!
Since Galway nothing has really changed, still taking it rally by rally for 2009. We held a fundraiser at Drimbo Park dog racing stadium to help with this year, and to everyone who attented, your help is appreciated and always remembered.
As regards to the car, no damage in galway meant it needed very little thankfully! The biggest job was clearing the muck out of my race boots.....which is still work in progress!
This weekend is round 2 of the Irish fiesta series, the circuit of ireland. Thanks to the fundraiser we are able to take the start, in this prestigious rally. It will feel strange getting back into the car again after such a long lay off but we can't let that get in the way.
I will do the recce in the next couple of days and everyone is talking about this Hamiltons folly stage, made famous by Bertie Fisher when he turned a manta into a aeroplane over a big jump! So Im looking forward to seeing what the fuss is about and to continue learning this tarmac surface.
So, next week I hope to bring you all the stories from the rally...lets hope there is no trips into any fields this time!
