Our winter break turned out to be alot shorter than we first thought, with a late decision to do the Galway International rally, the 1st round of the Irish Fiesta series.

With it being a last minute decision, things were a bit rushed and indeed found myself wondering what tarmac was! Anyway, we headed to the rally not knowing a thing about this Irish series!

Ray Fitzpatrick stepped in to the codrivers seat for me, again a last minute call up but infairness he carried his job out very well, perhaps better than i carried mine out!

1st loop of stages went ok, although the car stopping for around 10secs didn't help and put us down the order slightly, but still content with two loops of stages left!

The big problem of the day came on ss6 when, on shiney tar at a square left we locked up and went into a field, unfortuantely we were stuck for 8 minutes while the spectators helped get me back on the road. A big thanks to them for not giving up on helping me!

So after some more cancelled stages and other drivers having problems we finished 6th, I was disapointed if im honest because we went off when i was being careful and came home thinking where could we have finished.

Never mind, we will try again, tarmac is strange to me and I found the conditions hard to read, I've alot to learn! Thanks to Ray, the team who stood out in the lovely weather all weekend and ofcourse those spectators for helping me too.

Next up, in theory, will be the Circuit of Ireland, there is alot of people putting in alot of effort to make sure I'm at the start ramp, so lets hope I can pay them back this time!

Drive safely
